(The decline in Trump's strong approval ratings is larger than the overall decline in his approval ratings, in fact.) Far from having unconditional love from his base, Trump has already lost nearly a third of his strong support.
President Donald Trump has acquired the services of conservative attorney, Jay Sekulow, to his personal legal team to help rebuff allegations he has colluded with Russian Federation to win the USA presidential election.
"No, Chris. Let me be crystal clear so you completely understand: We have not received nor are we aware of any investigation of the president of the United States", Sekulow said.
Donald Trump has now hired Christian right lawyer Jay Sekulow, whose track record of lying is nearly as bad as his own, and is sending him out to defend him in the media.
Like Trump, Sekulow is a veteran of Fox News, where he serves as a legal analyst.
In a statement, Jamie Gorelick said she told Kushner to get "independent advice of a lawyer" on whether to "continue with us" after Robert Mueller was tapped to lead an FBI investigation into possible ties between Trump's presidential campaign and Russian Federation.
Things didn't get any better.
Meanwhile, Mr Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner may be getting new legal representation as the investigation heats up.
"You've now said he is being investigated after saying" he isn't, Fox News anchor Chris Wallace said.
"Well, no one's notified us that he is", Sekulow replied.

Sekulow has argued a dozen cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. "He's not a defense attorney".
The legal team, like the president, has come out ready to hit hard, even if not always quite accurately.
Other supporters of the president took to the Sunday shows to defend the intentions behind his tweet.
Sekulow's work has proved controversial.
Fighting has worked well for Trump.
Charles M. Blow is a columnist for The New York Times.
Sekulow's explanation not only fits the facts, it passes the smell test.
"That's incorrect", Sekulow responded.
Such accusations do not appear to have diminished Sekulow's standing among the Christian right. And Trump's own tweet seemed to concede the point last week. On Meet the Press, he said, "But when you see a tweet, okay, or a utilization of social media, and the president has, I mean, his social media reach is over a hundred million". That conflict involves Mueller's long-standing friendship with former Federal Bureau of Investigation head James Comey.
Gingrich, a Trump ally and confidant, said he met with Trump in January 2015 and they talked about how much a presidential race would cost - with competitive estimates running to as much as $80 million. Supposedly: we don't have confirmation on this.
The investigation has taken a serious turn in recent days, raising the clear possibility that whether Mueller finds wrongdoing or not, a period of political stress and upheaval is inevitable.
"That can't be constitutional, that can't be correct".
