Romanian third seed Simona Halep has moved smoothly into the French Open second round with a 6-2 6-3 win over Slovakia's Jana Cepelova, showing no ill effects from the ankle ligament she tore less than two weeks ago. "Martin goes for his shots, he can hit winners with that forehand from anywhere on the court", said Murray.
Olivo was just a game away from knocking the Frenchman out of his home tournament when the match was stopped for bad light with the world number 91 leading 7-5 6-4 6-7 (6-8) 5-4.
"He is, in my opinion, one of the best players in the world when he's fit and healthy", Murray said.
As well as being able to work on the practice court with his team on the days between matches, Murray welcomes the scope that playing over the best of five sets offers.
From 1-2 in the second set, he won four games in a row and, although Murray retrieved one break, the Russian served out the set at the second attempt to level the match.
The pair have yet to meet on the ATP Tour although Edmund won their only previous meeting in straight sets at a Challenger event on clay back in 2015. He plays a lot of drop shots and quite unorthodox sort of shot selection, so it can be hard to prepare for that.

Klizan did not look to be in any condition to challenge Murray, but the Scot will not take anything for granted.
"I felt sick in the afternoon and didn't feel great on Monday but I feel better". Both hit highlight-worthy shots on a regular basis. Murray also converted on nine of his 10 break chances and had just 24 unforced errors.
Kyle Edmund is also in action and has a winnable match on Court 14 against Portugal's Gastao Elias.
He was broken when serving for the first set at 5-4, but Kuznetsov handed the break right back in the next game.
"It will be a tough match I am sure".
"If things aren't going well, people will try and find the reason for why that is, you know, and blame Ivan or whatever it is, an injury or that I'm not motivated or whatever".
"It seems like everyone thinks I didn't play particularly well, but there was some good stuff against a tough opponent".
