A new update is rolling out for Instagram today which adds a bunch of new features - including a few more borrowed from Snapchat.
Besides just face filters, Instagram is also introducing a rewind mode for the camera. These include koala bear ears, a flower crown, nerd glasses, bunny ears, and more.
To use this new feature swipe into the camera and tap the new icon in the bottom right corner to try on eight different face filters.
To use face filters, you will first need to update your Instagram app to version 10.21. With the introduction of Face Filters, Instagram now shares every major feature of Snapchat.
"You can make videos that play in reverse with "Rewind", a new camera format next to "Boomerang" and "Hands-Free".
People using Android or iOS can download the latest update from their respective application depots, Play Store and App Store respectively.
Judging by the photos Instagram used in its blog post, this new feature clearly targets teens. You can just add these to your story or direct message to your friends.More news: Russian Federation downplays President Trump's firing of FBI Director Comey
Instagram did it again, but if you are wondering whether this means the photo-sharing social network has hit another major milestone, then you are wrong.
And as CNet notes, the new Insta filters work with both the front and rear-facing cameras on your phone.
An eraser brush can remove whatever you've drawn over a photo.
More context can be added to stories with custom hashtag stickers.
In Stories, you can also add a custom hashtag to your images or videos, either in regular text, or as a sticker.
Over the passage of time, Instagram has seen mammoth growth. The sticker is also clickable, taking people to the hashtag page where they can explore related photos.
Facebook-owned Instagram has stepped up its faceoff with Snapchat by releasing its own whimsical selfie accoutrements.
