Steve Clifford's side picked up their first ever victory in Oklahoma City against the Thunder while Russell Westbrook recorded his first ever triple-double against the Hornets.
For most of the season, Russell Westbrook's chase of the triple-double record and his team's success coincided.
Russell Westbrook posted 32 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists to get his 39th triple-double of the season.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook edged closer to National Basketball Association history with his 39th triple-double of the season on Friday, but it wasn't enough to hold off the San Antonio Spurs. With eight games left, he would pretty much have to fall off a cliff in order to fall short or Robertson's National Basketball Association record of 41 triple-doubles.
One of those games will be between the Milwaukee Bucks (40-37) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (43-33).
Perhaps it isn't good for the Spurs to get out to a big lead early. "You just try to make it as tough as possible", Kidd said, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. They trail the Utah Jazz (47-30) by 3.5 games in the Northwest Division standings.
All the things that have stood out about Westbrook over the years have put him in position to rewrite the record books. Chicago is the only team against which Westbrook hasn't recorded a triple-double during his career.
"It happens like that sometimes", Westbrook said. Kaminsky has made multiple 3-pointers in four consecutive games and has shot 20-of-35 from the field (57 percent) in the last three outings.

"I've watched him on TV so many games I nearly feel like I'm playing one of my teammates", Antetokounmpo said.
That win ended a three-game win-streak for the Thunder against the Bucks, and was also the first time in three matches that they have been limited to less than a hundred points against the Wisconsin-based franchise.
He is two triple-doubles shy of matching Oscar Robertson's National Basketball Association record 41 in a season, with seven games to play. The Hornets went into the fourth quarter with a 14-point advantage, which would ultimately be too much of a deficit for the Thunder to overcome.
Nikola Jokic finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Nuggets, and Goran Dragic scored 22 points for Miami.
"I think the place where you see the huge jumps is just his control of the game and his understanding of the game".
The result, even the process, masked the historical significance of Westbrook's triple-double.
Adams had 13 points and seven rebounds on 5-8 shooting, and the Thunder had a chance to make sure his late contribution was the game-deciding shot. Andre Roberson was the only other player for OKC to scored in double-figures with 12 points.
Westbrook isn't the only reason ESPN gobbled up this game for its national broadcast.
