The Dolphins have a good chance of finishing strong, but they shouldn't underestimate the Rams! The ending wouldn't have been possible without an extraordinary defensive performance that held Los Angeles (4-6) to 226 yards and made it so that the Dolphins' 14 points were sufficient. "So there potentially may be some different guys playing this week".
With two dramatic drives, Ryan Tannehill and the Miami Dolphins washed it all away. They also lost receiver A.J. Green to an injured right hamstring on the first pass of the game; he was taken off on a cart. They've lost exactly six times through the first 10 games in each of their five seasons under Fisher, who can't seem to figure out how to keep the penalties down or squeeze life from his offenses.
"We have an undying belief in each other", Tannehill said, later adding, "The feeling the entire game was, 'We're going to get it going, ' and we finally did".
Fisher hinted at personnel changes and bemoaned "repeat mistake-makers", but wouldn't specify whether any changes might come on the offensive line.
"I wish there was", offensive lineman Sam Young said. "I did that a year ago". The offense under coordinator Rob Boras isn't cutting it, in terms of scheme or talent. However, he put his faith in the offense and they delivered.
He'll get no argument there: of Miami's 240 total offensive yards, 152 (or 63 percent) came on their final two possessions.
Under an intense media glare - four videographers and three still photographers followed him during pregame warmups - and against a tough Miami defensive front, Goff completed 17 of 31 attempts for 134 yards.More news: LeBron absence felt as Pacers down Cavs
"I was impressed with what he did", Fisher said.
Ebron's first carry of his career, a handoff as he went from left to right after lining up as an off-the-line tight end, was set up by his career-long, 61-yard catch. He was in complete control. We didn't take our shots down the field, that in retrospect we probably needed to do. I was proud of his first outing. With Goff on the sidelines, Fisher could credibly sell the future as a reason to retain him - maybe the Rams weren't winning now, but once Goff is ready, they'd have a chance.
Goff was sacked only once, and the Dolphins recorded only four hits on him, although several times Goff showed nice footwork to evade potential sacks.
In Los Angeles, Goff plays for Fisher, who with the Rams already failed to develop one first overall pick in Sam Bradford.
Speaking at both his weekly press conference at California Lutheran University and on his weekly radio show at the Westlake Village Inn, the Rams head coach said Monday that Hill made a series of "bad decisions all the way around" on Friday night and into Saturday morning.
"I thought he handled this game well", Fisher said. "Disappointed in his choices.".
Both come off impressive victories, and Pete Carroll could get his 100th National Football League win on Sunday. Marcus Mariota and DeMarco Murray have the offense hopping - Tennessee has scored 35 or more points in three consecutive games for the first time in a single season in franchise history.
